Mr Bhatt filed a case at the Juhu Police Station yesterday under section 387, causing a person to fear death or grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion.
“A bolt from the blue in the form of an extortion call and threat to my family was nipped in the bud by MH and UP police in tendum. Gratitude!” Tweeted by Mahesh.
According to reports, Bhatt received a threat call on February 26, which he brushed off as a prank call. A series of text messages followed the call and a ‘gang leader’ threatened that if he failed to pay up, the person would fire rounds of bullets at Alia and Soni.
