The famous Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCarpio recently shared his wish to play the role of politically controversial Russian President Vladimir Putin in a movie.
DiCarpio stated: Putin would be very, very, very interesting. I would love to play him.
DiCarpio had met Russian president at a conference over protecting the Siberian tiger in 2010.
The Revenant actor added, “My foundation has provided financial support for several projects for the protection of these big cats. Putin and I talked only about the protection of these magnificent animals, not politics.”
He also shared his wish to play the roles of ancient heroes also, “Lenin, too, would be an interesting film role. I would like to play Rasputin too. I believe that there should be more movies about Russian history.”
He added: Russia unites so many stories almost of Shakespearean character. For an actor, it’s extremely exciting.
As per reported by Los Angeles, Putin praised the actor for attending the meeting as he fled even in some bad weather to attend meeting. Putin remarked, “A person with less stable nerves could have decided against coming, could have read it as a sign – that it was not worth going” adding that Dicarptio is “muzhik” or “real man”.
The Titanic hero is recently nominated for Oscar over his remarkable role in his film Revenant.
