Lahore (Online): Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has called for raising the budget allocation for education to five per cent in order to ensure a bright future for the nation and the country.
Speaking at a function organized by the Islami Jamiat e Talaba at Karachi, on Sunday, he said that Pakistan was a large country and the allocation of two per cent of budget for education was too small to meet the needs of the nation.
He said that even the two per cent budget was spent on the educational institutions of the elite. Sirajul Haq said that the world at large had reached the moon and the Mars whereas “we are only talking of cleansing the garbage.” He said the education was not among the priorities of the rulers while the budget meant for health was also misappropriated.
He reiterated that the JI on coming to power, would ensure free education for the youth besides unemployment allowance to the youth till they got jobs. The JI chief congratulated the IJT for organizing a self assessment test for the students as would help them in the days ahead.
