Donald Trump on Saturday said that the policies of President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton created ISIS. The furthest this GOP front runner has gone in tying the Obama administration’s policies to the rise of the terror group.
He gave his remarks in a brief discussion of the Iranian protests outside the Saudi embassy in Tehran, which erupted after Saudi Arabia executed 47 people including a dissident Shiite cleric.
Trump offered no evidence for his claim here at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, in which he also said that escalating tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia were signs that the Islamic Republic wanted to take over the longtime U.S. ally in the Middle East.
‘They have created ISIS. Hillary Clinton created ISIS with Obama.’
Two of Trump’s 2016 competitors, Carly Fiorina and Rick Santorum, said in November that Clinton and Obama were to blame for ISIS.
In recent weeks, he’s been particularly aggressive in going after Clinton, the Democratic presidential front-runner, and her record leading the State Department.
Trump has blamed both Democrats and former President George W. Bush when talking about unrest in the Middle East, particularly citing the 43rd president’s decision to invade Iraq in 2003.

In the recent weeks, he has been particularly aggressive in going after Clinton, the Democratic presidential front-runner, and her record leading the State Department.
Clinton had slammed Trump’s recent comments about banning Muslim immigrants, saying the Republican front-runner was “becoming ISIS’s best recruiter”.
“He is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter. They are going to people showing videos of Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists,” she said.
Recently, An al Qaeda affiliate has apparently released a new recruitment video, telling Muslims in America that the country has a long history of racism and discrimination and will turn on its Muslim community.
The video purportedly by Somali terrorist group al Shabaab uses historic civil rights era footage of firebrand Malcolm and audio of 2016 presidential candidate Donald Trump to label the United States a racist society.
Throughout the video, excerpts of previous video messages from the late radical cleric Anwar al Awlaki are played predicting persecution of Muslims in the United States.
Al-Awlaki was U.S. born and rose and revered as a powerful motivator in terrorist operations for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
