Islamabad: India has deployed United States manufactured drones along Line of Control (LoC) in disputed Himalayan state of Kashmir for surveillance purposes.
These spy drones have night vision cameras and are deployed in Poonch and Rajouri sectors along the LoC with the data center in Srinagar.
Defence experts say that these drones will destabilize the region as they would be used by Indian forces to carry out surgical strikes.
It is necessary to note that US has refused Pakistan several times to provide spy drones despite its several requests. According to former ambassador Ali Sarwar Naqvi, India has possibly acquired US-made drones during Barack Obama’s regime when a strategic partnership pact was signed between Washington and New Delhi.
Experts also say that Pakistan should raise the issue with US authorities and also needs to take appropriate measures to prevent any negative effects of the deployment of drones.
This is not the first time that India has used drones for surveillance purposes. In July 2016, Pakistan shot down an Indian spy drone which was made in Israel.
