Fort Lauderdale (AFP): India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field in the second Twenty20 clash against West Indies on Sunday as his team looked to recover from their dramatic one-run defeat the previous day.

West Indies, the world champions in the game’s shortest format, piled up 245 on Saturday in what was the third highest total of all time.

But India came close to pulling off a dramatic win when Dhoni was out last ball with just two needed for victory at the Central Broward Regional Park.

The 489 runs scored on Saturday was the most ever for a T20 match.

West Indies were unchanged for Sunday’s game after Chris Gayle was once again declared unfit while India brought in Amit Mishra for Stuart Binny who conceded 32 runs off the only over he bowled 24 hours earlier.
