IHC dismisses contempt of court plea against interior minister Ch Nisar

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while maintaining the objections raised by registrar office has rejected contempt of court plea against interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani  took up the case for hearing Tuesday.

The petitioner Shahid Orakzai took the plea before the court that name of Pervez Musharraf accused in high treason case was removed from ECL under the directives of interior minister.

On the other hand interior minister in his statement shifted the responsibility of Pervez Musharraf going abroad to Supreme Court (SC). Interior minister said that Pervez Musharraf will be brought back to Pakistan through Interpol. The statements given by interior minister in joint session of parliament are  on the record.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani  remarked the matters which come under debate in  parliament    can not be discussed in the court.

Shahid Orakzai said the objection raised by registrar office is wrong that high court is not proper forum for this petition. IHC has earlier heard different petitions pertaining to high treason case and given decision.

The court while upholding registrar office objections dismissed the petition.
