ICC new Test ranking: Pakistan dropped to sixth place

After facing defeat in New Zealanad and Australia, Pakistan’s test team has dropped to sixth spot in ICC Test batting rating; only Azhar Ali and Younis Khan secured personal positions.

Pakistani batsman Azhar Ali is ranked sixth whereas Younis Khan is at the seventh spot. However, no Pakistani bowler is included in the list of top ten bowlers.

Earlier, in October 2016, Pakistan for the first time ever, was ranked first in ICC Test ranking; the position has now been taken up by India after defeating Australia in the fourth test match.

India secured 122 points and is ranked first whereas the Australian team is ranked second with 108 points.

South Africa secured third position whereas England the fourth. New Zealand ranked fifth, Pakistan sixth, Sri Lanka seventh. West Indies ranked eighth in the Test rankings whereas Bangladesh is at ninth place and Zimbabwe named at last.

In the ranking of batsman, Australia captain Steve Smith is at the top, followed by Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, England’s captain Joe Root is at the third place whereas Virat Kohli stood fourth.

Kane Williamson ranked fifth, Azhar Ali ranked sixth, Younis Khan seventh, David Warner eight, Hashim Amla ninth and Quentin De Cock  is at tenth place.
