KARACHI, August 29 (Online): Sindh High Court (SHC) has adjourned till September 5, hearing of bail plea filed by former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain and others in the case of provision of medical treatment to terrorists.
A 2-member bench of SHC took up for hearing the bail applications filed separately by former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain, Rauf Siddiqui, MPA from MQM and Anees Qaim Khawani, leader of Paksirzameen party Monday.
Counsel for Dr Asim Hussain told the court doctors had advised his client for undergoing physiotherapy and he was also unwell. Rangers handed over Dr Asim Hussain to police after keeping him under their custody for 90 days. Therefore, his bail plea be accepted.
The court remarked the accused wants bail be granted to him on medical grounds. Court will constitute a medical board on this count.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till September 5 after the counsels for other accused sought time for preparation of the case.
