Attock: Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) turned violent as they set ablaze eight police vehicles and around ten motorcycles at Haroon Bridge while clearing containers placed as barricades by police to stop entrance to Islamabad.
Reportedly, all barricades erected at Haroon Bridge near Swabi Interchange have been cleared by the mob and additional contingents of police have been summoned to secure the site.
It has been reported that the law enforcement agencies are laying a network of barbed wires at Islamabad Interchange to add to the resistance against workers of the political organisation who are attempting to enter the federal capital for participation in sit-in to be held on November 2.
Sources privy to the police have reported that more containers have been placed at an interchange near Attock to stop the angry activists.
Earlier today, law enforcers subjected convoy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM), Pervez Khattak and activists of PTI to shelling of tear gas as they attempted to enter Punjab at motorway interchange to reach Islamabad.
The incident took place at Swabi Interchange on the motorway.
