Attock: Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain on Tuesday said that self-reliance and indigenous defence production was the highest priority of the government.
Rana Tanveer was addressing a ceremony held at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra.
He appreciated the efforts of engineers and technicians who improved engineering potential of Pakistan by successfully overhauling and repairing weapons system.
He said that efforts were being made to attain greater autonomy in self-reliance and indigenisation of defence production.
He also admired China’s role, support and assistance in the area of defence weapons production.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman also spoke on the occasion and said that notable progress has been observed in both areas, adding, “future lies in manufacturing of 5th generation aircrafts and development of sophisticated radars.”
