Srinagar, October 04 (Online): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the ban on publication of Srinagar-based English daily Kashmir Reader by the Indian authorities and the killing of a former village headman by unidentified gunmen in Pulwama district.
Gilani termed the ban on Kashmir Reader’s publication as one of the darkest chapters in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, Indian state and its quislings in Jammu and Kashmir want to enforce the peace of dead, through violence and repression, and anyone raising voice reporting or writing against that is labeled a threat. “This is simply state terrorism,” he added.
The APHC Chairman expressed his unflinching solidarity with Kashmir Reader and hoped that the press in Kashmir would oppose the move and would express fearless support to the daily.
