CHAMAN: Federal Investigation Agency has arrested a serving Afghan army officer in Chaman.
According to reports, he was trying to cross border of Pakistan to enter into Afghanistan without any legal reason and was intercepted at a check post in Chaman.
The Army officer was identified as Rozi Khan and was arrested for crossing into Pakistan without possessing any documents to enter Pakistan.
He was later handed over to intelligence agencies who moved him to undisclosed location for interrogation.
Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan appreciated FIA for its timely action.
Earlier, on April 6, the Frontier Corps (FC) had arrested Afghan intelligence officer, also near Chaman during a raid. The raiding team had also recovered weapons including four SMGs, one sniper rifle, three mobile phone sets, eleven antennas, twenty-five small and ten large ball bearings, seventy-five detonator fuses and other items as well.
The arrest of suspected Afghan intelligence officials comes after forces arrested an Indian agent Kulbushan Jadhav from Balochistan, who said was involved in “terror activities” in the province.
