Islamabad: Former Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Tariq Masood will be appointed as the new IG Punjab following the retirement of incumbent IG Mushtaq Ahamd Sukhera.
The federal government has appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Khalid Khattak acting inspector general of Islamabad Police. He will hold the office before the appointment of permanent IG Islamabad.
Earlier the Punjab government requisitioned the services of Tariq Masood Yasin (PSP/BPS-21) from federal following which the Establishment Division has issued notice of his posting.
Tariq was appointed as the IG of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) in April 2016. He was serving as a regional police officer (RPO) Multan before his appointment as IGP. He earned good reputation during his service.
Tariq also served on major assignments including AIG Establishment and DIG Security Division, Islamabad.
