ECP to give decision, tomorrow, over references filed against Khan and Tareen

Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is expected to give decision on Thursday, tomorrow, regarding the petition filed against Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Imran Khan and its leader Jehangir Tareen.

The Chief Election Commissioner has given the date of tomorrow, Thursday, to give decision of the reference against both members of National Assembly.

These references were sent by the Speaker National Assembly Ayyaz Sadiq.

ECP has to give decision within 90 days of receiving references, however the election commission failed to do so, following which PTI filed petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) to ask ECP not to hear the case.

IHC cancelled the petition after which election commission resumed case hearing.

The decision of references is expected on March 16.
