It seems that government is habitual of befooling the masses with its petty gimmicks, thinking the general public will forget their wrongdoings and get pleased with their ‘lollipops’.
On Friday, the government again tried to please the inflation-hit public with a meagre decrease in petroleum prices.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar even hold a press conference just to announce this meagre decrease in petroleum prices.
According to details, the petrol price has been decreased by Rs 1.80 per litre. Dar made the announcement a day after his oath-taking ceremony as the finance minister in the newly-formed cabinet of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqaan Abbasi.
The price of diesel has been reduced by Rs 2.50 per litre. On July 28, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended Rs 3.67 per litre reduction in petrol price. The authority has also recommended reduction in the prices for Kerosene, high speed diesel and light speed diesel.
