Cuttting sugar and carbs can decrease risk of cancer

Most of us are acquainted with cautions to go easy on the carbs, and especially the unhealthy, treated ones, to avoid weight gain and other health glitches. Now it appears that cutting out sweet drinks and processed foods can also lower the hazards of cancer.

The conclusions are being presented at the American Society for Nutrition Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting during Experimental Biology 2016 in San Diego, CA.

They propose that consuming sugary drinks and processed lunch foods can double or triple the chance of developing prostate cancer, while consuming pulses, beans, fruits and vegetables can reduce the risk of breast cancer by two thirds.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer and the second leading reason of cancer-related death in men, while breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women.
