CPEC project: up-gradation of Karachi-Peshawar railway track kicks off

Islamabad: The initial work on the up-gradation and construction of 1872 kilometer long Karachi-Peshawar railway track has been kicked off under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (COEC) project that covers total area of 2442 kilometers.   

According to the Radio Pakistan sources, Pakistan Railways (PR) spokesperson stated that a team consists of twelve engineers has arrived in Peshawar to devise a strategy and design of the railway track.

The design of the project would be accomplished within two months and practical work on the construction and up-gradation of the railway track would be launched next year, the sources informed. Moreover, the sources revealed that the Lahore-Peshawar railway track would also be on double track.
