COAS pledges to cleanse Pakistan of rioters

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, in a video message, pledged to rid the country of rioters.

The special video message was shared by the Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations for the occasion of Pakistan Day on Wednesday.

The Chief of Army Staff said: “On March 23, 1940 we took oath to create Pakistan and succeeded.” He added, “Let us pledge to clean our Pakistan from ‘fasaadis’ (rioters).”

After the incident of 9/11 Pakistan also faced terrorism which killed over 35,000 Pakistanis just in the period of 11 years. In its counter terrorism activities, Pakistan military and security forces killed number of terrorists and rioters; several also being apprehended.

Pakistan Army in the end of February has launched country-wide operation Raddul Fasaad against militants. The operation was announced after the emerged layer of terrorism in the last month which killed over 130 innocents.

The operation is aimed to carry out counter terrorism activities all across Pakistan and its main objective is to eliminate the sanctuaries of terrorists and militants from all provinces. Large number of terrorists have been killed and several suspect arrested in ongoing operation.
