COAS pays tributes to martyred officials of FWO
Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has paid rich tributes to 1300 officials of FWO for laying down their lives during executions of various projects in the country.
The COAS on Monday attended the golden jubilee celebrations of Frontier Works Organization (FWO) at Thalian near Islamabad toll plaza on motorway.
Talking to FWO ceremony attendees, the chief of army staff said that FWO has played a pivotal role in leading army’s contribution in all nation building efforts.
He added that FWO has developed, over the year, into a strategic organization with extraordinary capability to deliver projects of national importance.
In addition to large number of Hydel and mining projects, construction of KKH, Central Trade Corridor through Wazirstan to Afghanistan, Coastal Highway and now the construction of over 1000 Kms CPEC roads are some of their key projects, Gen Raheel added.
Going into inaccessible areas to connect the remotest parts of the country with mainland, highest quality work in least time have been its hallmark, the COAS maintained.
In his concluding remarks, the COAS congratulated them on accomplishing the unthinkable and vowed for whole army to continue working for security and prosperity of the country.
