COAS expresses gratitude to participants of Pakistan Day Parade

Islamabad: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday expressed immense gratitude to all those countries that participated in the Pakistan Day parade and made it successful.

He also paid tribute to brave soldiers of the country on the occasion of the National Day parade held at Shakarparian Parade Ground in Islamabad, military media wing Inter-Services Public Relations’ (ISPR’s) statement said.

“You are our heroes; your sacrifices will not go in vain. We owe our peace and independence to you,” said the COAS.

COAS Bajwa thanked the troops of Turkey, China and Saudi Arabia and Saouth African chief for participation in the parade. He also showed gratitude towards spectators.

COAS mentioned Pakistan a peaceful country. He also pledged to clean from it from “fasaadis.”

Pakistan celebrated its 78th National Day on Thursday with zeal and fervor. The day is being celebrated in remembrance of Lahore Resolution of 1940 when Muslims officially demanded a separate homeland.

Not only in Pakistan but Pakistanis, present all around the world including Indian Occupied Kashmir, celebrated the day with full zest.

National Day celebrations began with 31 gun salute in federal capital and 21 gun salute in the provincial capitals, followed by a joint military parade in Islamabad. All the three forces of military, Navy, Army and Air Force presented a mesmerizing show of heavy weapons and artillery. Fly past and march past were also parts of the parade at Shakarparian.

President and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan along with the military chiefs of three forces attended the ceremony.
