Karachi: “Change of guards ceremony” was being held at Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum Karachi in regard to 77th Pakistan Day. Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar also participated in the ceremony.
Founder of Pakistan’s family, Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s member Shameem Firdous Naqvi and number of other political, relegious and military representatives were present in the prestigious ceremony of guard changing.
Military forces’ representatives and others laid floral wreaths on the tomb and offered Fateha.
After the changing of guards, Governor Zubair and CM Sindh’s representative Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani offered tribute to Jinnah.
While talking to media Zubair said: “It’s of great significance to me to be present at Quaid’s mausoleum on great occasion of Pakistan Day.”
He said, March 23rd held huge significance as the Pakistan resolution was passed on the same day in 1940, adding, “Karachi and all other cities are making continuous advancement.”
Zubair said that we should have to make progress focusing the unity and prosperity and stability of the country.
He also asked nation to be united and vowed to eliminate the evil of terrorism from Pakistan.
Changing guard ceremony Iqbal’s tomb:
Apart from it, change of guard ceremony was also held at the tomb of the national poet, Dr Allama Iqbal, in Lahore.
Air Commodore Salman Mehboob was the chief guest at the event where batch of Pakistan Air Force paraded and offered salute to the mausoleum.
