The artist community incuding Fakhr-e-Alam, Adil Murad, Faysal Qureshi, Maria Wasti, Tipu, Barkat Siddiqui, Meera, Nauman Masood, Parveen Akbar, Hassan Somroo, Zeba Bakhtiar, Javeria Abbasi, Arjumand Raheem, Rubab, Nauman Habib.
All demanded that they also need similar security as given to the politicians as their lives are also important like their lives.
Meera stated, “I stand with the community and will follow whatever decision will be made.”
Adil Murad while talking to media, said that the security provided to the high-profile people is not that appropriate as people may not know them that much the way they know artists.
The artist community reaching the police station was lead by Fakhr-e-Alam.
Talking to media, he said that he is sure that they will not receive any bullet proof car etc. CM Sindh had earlier said that he didn’t know about the threats given to Amjad Sabri Shaheed, however, now Fakhr-e-Alam raised a voice and gathered all the artists with him to tell the police that all artists have been threatened.
Moreover, quite a few female artists have also received threats.
After the murder of the great Qawaal, Amjad Sabri, the artist community protested against the lack of security from the government.
