Islamabad: A meeting of the Council of Common Interests is in progress in Islamabad with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair.
It decided that new dates for the census will be given after consultation with the stakeholders.
The meeting also discussed the national strategy for prevention of floods in the country.
Chief Ministers of all the four provinces attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, all the four provincial chief ministers met PM Nawaz in which they exchanged views on the two-point agenda, developmental projects and situation of the country.
The last CCI meeting held on February 29 decided with consensus to reschedule the census due to commitments of security forces and ongoing operations.
The CCI’s agenda also included formulation of National Flood Protection Plan-IV 2015-25 and discussed pumping of drainage effluent, rationalization of water distribution from Hub dam and early completion of RBOD-III.
