Baghdad: 47 killed in an explosion, ISIS responsible

On Sunday, an ISIS terrorist ignited a truck full of explosives fuel truck in traffic at a security barrier south of Baghdad. The explosion resulted in death of 47 people.

A martyr’s operation with a truck bomb hit the Babylon Ruins checkpoint at the entrance of the city of Hilla, killing and wounding dozens, the statement on the Amaq news agency website said.

According to Reuters and AFP, more than 70 people were injured in the explosion. According to BBC report, at least 39 of the deceased were citizens and the residue were police.

When I got to the scene, there were people whose clothes were still on fire, they were screaming, a nearby driver, Hamza Kadhem, told AFP.

Reuters reported that ISIS appealed recognition for the suicide attack on a news website that supports the group.
