Several twists and turns have taken place in Pakistan’s politics during the past few weeks and the latest update in the row is Ayesha Gulalai’s quitting the PTI and levelling allegations against her former party chief Imran Khan.
Ayesha Gulalai had joined the PTI bandwagon in 2012 and was also nominated as a member of the PTI central committee. In 2013, she was elected as a member of the national assembly on the reserved seat of FATA. Previously, she had also been a member of PPP and APML.
She has parted ways with the PTI citing that the party doesn’t guarantee the dignity of women. She has used harsh language against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and its chairman Imran Khan. In her press conference, she has levelled several allegations but no proofs have yet to be proved or brought before the media. This is being considered as a big blow to the PTI after Naz Baloch’s switching loyalties to the PPP.
Several fake accounts of her have emerged following her news conference of leaving PTI. Satirical remarks continued to pour onto these fake accounts. One such example is as under,
While on the other side, PTI female workers have also held a press conference, denying Gulalai’s allegations completely.
#ayeshagulalai has become the Pakistan’s top trend during the last 24 hours.
More than 20,000 tweets have circulated on Twitter regarding the matter. With every passing second, the debate is heating up. Everyone is busy giving their ‘expert’ advice. There’s no doubt that our people are concerned about the country and wish to see it progressing. Let’s put the seriousness of this matter aside for some time and take the ‘positive perspective’. You would be wondering how? Well, at least during all these years, Pakistanis now have freedom of expression as they can bravely voice out their thoughts through various mediums available to them.
A social tug-of-war has again started between the PTI and the PML-N supporters, both trying hard to prove their stance correct after Gulalai’s press conference.
Every day, Pakistanis wake up to surprises and try to figure out the situation. Looks like Pakistanis are tired of these mind-boggling circumstances.
If we name the feelings of our people in a few words, they will be: Ye kya ho raha hai bhai?!
But well, we all know a picture has three sides – Your side, my side and the truth. So, nothing can be ticked authentic without proper investigation. Pakistanis definitely need to keep their reactions to their selves unless the news is verified.
