Ayesha Gulalai Wazir, MNA of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to part ways with the party. It is very likely that she may join Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), according to sources.
Gulalai’s quitting the PTI is yet another blow to the party after leaving of Naz Baloch.
She was elected as Member National Assembly on the reserved seat from South Waziristan. “Gulalai says she has some grievances with the PTI leadership over the humiliation of women party workers,” a source said.
There are reports that Gulalai has yet not decided of joining any political party but it is most likely she may join the Nawaz League as she has recently met PML-N leader from KP, Amir Muqam. She is likely to announce her final decision in media briefing.
Meanwhile, some PTI leaders are making efforts to convince her and address her concerns. Her decision came at a time when the National Assembly is electing a new prime minister for interim setup.
Gulalai began her political career as a human rights activist from South Waziristan. She has also remained associated with Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) as coordinator in FATA, and All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) of Pervez Musharraf.
On the other hand, PTI spokesman claimed the post was bogus and would be deleted. Gulalai will issue a clarification in this regard, adding that the accounts of Gulalai are being run by her brother. Fawad Chaudhry said he did not know about any complaints that Gulalai had with the party.
