APML, PAT set to file disqualification reference against PM

Islamabad June 28 (Online) Following the footsteps of PPP and PTI, country’s other political parties including All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have started making preparations to file a reference in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking the disqualification of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

It was revealed by Central Secretary General of APML Ahmed Reza Kasuri in an interview. “APML has finalized its preparations to file a disqualification reference against PM and undeniable proofs would be attached with the disqualification reference against PM and his colleagues”, he added and maintained that PAT has also decided to file a reference against PM and its head Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri has hired the services of legal experts in this regard.

Qasuri further added that former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has also announced to file a reference against PM. It is worth mentioning here that PTI and PPP have already approached the ECP in this regard and both the main stream political parties have filed a disqualification reference against PM Nawaz Sharif, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, son-in-law of PM Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar and Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.

In the disqualification reference, allegation was leveled on the above mentioned figures that they had hidden their assets while taking part in general elections of 2013 and prayed that these should be declared disqualified under articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.

It is a matter of great interest that on one hand combined opposition is filing reference in ECP while on the other hands ECP has not been completed so far and secretary ECP has already explained that currently no action could be taken against PM and any other figure as ECP is incomplete.
