Amir Khan Launches Professional Boxing League in Pakistan

 

Famous boxer, Amir Khan, on Thursday propelled Pakistan’s first professional boxing league in a ritzy event at Marriott Hotel. The event drove under the vision of two-time title holder Amir Khan and promoted by the British business head, Bill Dosanjh,and was named ‘Super Boxing League.’

Chief ARY Digital Network Salman Iqbal, who also owns Pakistan Super League franchise Karachi Kings, will together serve as the league’s chief which is set to include eight teams claimed by cricketing world and  big names of show-business.

The teams are named after major cities of the nation including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot and Quetta. Each team will involve 10 men and two ladies boxers.

Out of the eight teams, previous Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi owns Pakhtoon Warriors, amazing pacer Wasim Akram purchased Multan Nawabs, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan claims Faisalabad Falcons, while ARY’s Salman and performing artist Fahad Mustafa mutually claim Karachi Cobras.

Amir was of the view that he expected to show the correct pathway to potential and aspiring boxers which would ultimately help in creating more expert title-holders. “I trust Pakistan can deliver numerous Muhammad Alis,” Amir proudly made the announcement.

SBL Pakistan will be associated with the Punjab Sports Board (PSB) and the World Boxing Council (WBC) from September 28, 2018 to November 03, 2018 at the Amir Khan Boxing Academy in Islamabad.

Each one of the six matches will highlight five male battles and one female battle-guaranteeing diversity and attraction of this wonderful initiative. The league, in its first season, will have a blend of understanding and youth with getting ability over the featherweight 57 kg, welterweight 66.7 kg,m-72.57 kg, super middleweight 76.2 kg, substantial weight – boundless and female super fly 52.16 kg classifications.

For Pakistan, the live broadcast rights will go to the most elevated offering broadcaster.
