Ahmad Ali Sheikh appointed as CJ SHC

Karachi: President Mamnoon Hussain on Manday has appointed Justice Ahmed Ali Sheikh as the new chief justice (CJ) of the Sindh High Court (SHC).

The decision has been taken after the nomination of former CJ SHC Justice Sajjad Ali Shah as judge of the Supreme Court. Shah’s promotion will complete the strength of the apex court.

Both of the judges will take their charge in March.

In the start of March, Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointment in the Superior Courts, under the chairmanship of Muhammad Arshad Leghari, confirmed the appointment of Justice Ahmed Ali M. Sheikh, as new CJ SHC.

Judicial Commission of Pakistan was also showing its concerns over the appointment of senior judges.
