Well-known Pakistani guitarist and song writer Aamir Zaki passed away on Friday, June 2 in Karachi.
Reports have revealed that he died of a heart attack, aged 49 years. His family disclosed that he was suffering for quite a while now.
He began his music career when Alamgir found him. While on tour with him, he played a Flying V Guitar that he built himself.
Aamir became Alamgir’s lead guitarist and later formed three rock bands, ‘The Barbarians’, ‘Axe Attack’ and ‘Scratch’. He released his solo album Signature in 1995 and gained his recognition most from the album’s song ‘Mera Pyaar’ which became a big hit. He made his first appearance on Coke Studio in 2014.
Moments after his death, Pakistani social media accounts flooded with immense grief and sadness.
There is no doubt that Aamir Zaki was one of the best and the finest guitar players to ever come out from Pakistan.
He will be remembered in our prayers everyday.
