A Pakistani becomes first Muslim to join NYPD’s ESU

New York: Sergeant Ali Javed has made history by becoming the first Muslim and first Pakistani-American to join the elite New York City Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit (NYPD ESU).

The New York Police Police Department’s Muslim Officers Society tweeted on the appointment of Ali Javed.

Meanwhile, the United States Embassy in Islamabad also congratulated Sergeant Ali Javed on his achievement.

Earlier this weak, a Pakistani-American doctor Adil Haider was selected to receive the highest civilian award for US immigrants. Surgeon Haider was awarded with Ellis Island Medal of Honour for his excellence performance in his field.

Haider is the second generation American who completed his medical education from Agha Khan Hospital University in 1998. Later, he moved to US to attain master’s degree in public health at Johns Hopkins University. Following it, he also applied for residency and started his journey to became the best in his field.
