66 suspects arrested in Peshawar

Peshawar: At least sixty-six suspects including ten Afghan nationals and three facilitators of terrorists were arrested in different areas of Peshawar and Charsadda districts today.

Arms and ammunition were also recovered from them.

At least 150 alleged suspects were taken into custody from Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Vehari on late Wednesday night.

According to media reports, law enforcement agencies continued their crackdown against criminal and terrorist elements in Punjab.

On 29 March, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah claimed that the more than 5000 people have been arrested in these two days. However, Investigators later released all of them but at least 216 suspects were referred for further investigation.

He said that the raids were carried out by different law enorcement agencies including police, counter-terrorism and intelligence agents and affirmed that army and paramilitary forces may also be used in future operations
