Reaction to Kangana Ranaut’s song, Karan Johar’s ‘Dear Talent’ Tweet

Kangana Ranaut being Kangana Ranaut could not resist but star in a new video titled The Bollywood Diva, which is crazy viral now.

The video, made in collaboration with comedy collective All India Bakchod or AIB, is actually a brutally dissected report of Bollywood’s patriarchal attitude and appears to take digs at Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar – the two celebs Kangana continues to have bitter relations with.

Amidst all this, arrives a tweet from Karan Johar on Monday evening which can easily be shrugged off as just another life lesson the likes of which the 45-year-old filmmaker happens to share so often on social media. But wait, Twitter thinks otherwise.

In his tweet, Karan wrote: “Dear talent… I wish you would stay away from overconfidence and delusion… they are constantly conspiring against you… don’t you see it?” Soon after, Twitter made up its mind. Only recently on popular TV show Aap Ki Adalat, Kangana has mentioned having experienced “stardom” after the success of her critically acclaimed movie Queen, after which she’s delivered a blockbuster performance in Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

The Kangana Ranaut vs Karan Johar section of updates began after the actress tagged Karan as “the flag bearer of nepotism” on his talk show Koffee With Karan earlier this year. In return, Karan accused Kangana of playing the “woman and the victim card” and also taken a dig at the actress at this year’s IIFA Awards (for which he later apologized).

Here’s a glimpse of what Twitter has to say about Karan’s tweet being a reaction to Kangana’s song. “AIB’s The Bollywood Diva song: Kangana Ranaut takes on Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar in this ‘vagina’ rant,” said a tweet while another read: “AIB just roasted everyone including Karan Johar and I’m here for this.” “A slap on Bollywood! You go, Queen,” tweeted another user. Kangana has trended on and off for exchanging allegations with Hrithik Roshan, who denies the affair Kanagana claims they had together.

Before you watch, here’s how the lyrics sum up Bollywood’s sexist attitude towards female stars: “Khub maare maine yahaan aake thumke… aaj jana tum bhi mere baatein sunke” and “Coz I have vagina rey, objectify even my kalaiyaan rey“… is how it goes.

Kangana Ranaut’s video is actually part of promotional duties for her new movie Simran, which is releasing this Friday. Kangana also has Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi in the pipeline, for which she’s expected to resume shooting after Simran.
