YouTube ‘Super Chat’ is a new way to support live-streams

How do you get your favorite you tuber to notice you? Making yourself heard in a live stream chat room is nearly impossible?

Super Chat is a latest YouTube live feature that lets users pay to pin messages to the top of a chat box for up to five hours. It is not feasible to scroll the dozens of messages on a busy stream by every second. So through Super Chat you can start it today on select channels, you can pay for it.

It is very advantageous for users who want to be noticed by their favorite You Tuber. Users just have to click the dollar sign in the web chat interface or Android app (IOS support is coming later) and pay to have their comment featured. The more you pay the longer your chat messages sticks.

The part of that payment is going directly to the creators too, providing fans a new way to support their favorite channels. Interesting to think of it as YouTube’s version of Twitch Cheering but without animated emoji.

For now, the feature is only obtainable on select channels, but Google plans to roll it out to more users by the end of this month.
