We are not talking in Persian; we are asking to provide records of fiscal years, says Justice Azmat


Islamabad: While hearing of Panama Leaks scandal paused at Supreme Imran Khan remarked; “In our society parents give presents to their children but in the case of Nawaz Sharif, it is opposite.”

The five-member apex bench of the Supreme Court was hearing the Panama Leaks case filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami Muslim League (AML); the bench was presided by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.

PM’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan, told that Hussain Nawaz gifted money to his father; court remarked that it might be transferred illegaly; to which Makhdoom Khan replied that he will not try to hide behind any technical point. Khan argued; “the money transactions among Nawaz Sharif and his children were proceeded through a Bank; allegations of black money and tax evasion on Nawaz Sharif are false.”

Justice Azmat Saaed remarked; “We are not talking in Persian; we are asking to provide records of fiscal years.” Khan replied; ” The transaction record can be obtained from bank;” Justice Khosa told the counsel that he should provide these records to court while talking about it. Khosa said that there is a great controversy present on the issue of money in Prime Minister’s statements.

Court also remarked during the proceeding that how Hussain Nawaz gave Rs. 520 million in 4 years; he must have to satisfy the court on the point that from where the money came. Court directed PM counsel to brief the court on the issue of controversy between PM’s speech and his statements in the court.
