Sri Lankan fielder Silva is safe after head injury

Injury in gentleman’s game is nothing new last year Philips Hughes Australia opener died after getting injured and this time Sri Lankan got injured while fielding in close during a domestic match.

Kaushal Silva, the opener of Sri Lanka Test cricket team, has been discharged from hospital and told he’s fully healthy two days after he was struck on the head by a cricket ball.

According to Sri Lankan Cricket on Tuesday, that doctors confirmed Silva was in mildly unconscious stage by the hit in a practice match on head, but he was cleared to continue a physical activity.

Sri Lankan fielder Silva was fielding at short leg when a powerful sweep by Dinesh Chandimal struck the back of his head at Pallekele on Sunday.

He was with the team and playing in camp for the tour of England next month. He was airlifted to Colombo.

In filed position Silva turned his head, and the ball hit him below the back rim of the helmet into a padded attachment that was mandated after Phillip Hughes died after he was hit by a ball in Australia in 2014.
