Sarfraz Ahmed appointed new Pakistan T20 captain

Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Sarfraz Ahmed as Captain of T20 team.

According to press release issued here on Tuesday, Sarfraz was appointed Vice Captain of ODI and T20 teams last year.

Commenting on this development Chairman PCB said “I spoke to Sarfraz this morning and conveyed to him that he was our natural choice for this position. His appointment is open-ended. I wish him good luck in his new role”.

He takes over the captaincy of the shortest form of the game from Shahid Afridi whose term as Captain finished after the ICC World T20 2016.

Sarfraz Ahmed is a wicket-keeper batsman who played his international debut in November 2007against India.

Earlier, Shahid Afridi resigned as captain of T-20 team
