Report of Musharraf’s assets forfeiture submitted in court

Islamabad: In Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case, the report of assets forfeiture of former president General Pervaiz Musharraf was submitted in a local court of Islamabad on Saturday.

The case is being heard in the court of Additional District and Session Judge Pervaiz-ul-Qadir Memon, during which asset forfeiture was being reported. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad submitted a written report before the court in which he told the court that assets of former president are being seized under the order of the court.

It is also reported that a request was also submitted by Advocate Tariq Asad to declare General (R.) Pervaiz Musharraf, a proclaimed offender and issue his red warrants to catch him through Interpol.

The request stated that court has a power to issue red warrant of an offender criminal. After hearing the request of prosecutor, Additional District and Session Judge Pervaiz-ul-Qadir Memon asked to provide the reference of an article of the constitution under which orders can be passed to Interior Ministry to arrest the accused.

The court ordered Advocate Tariq Asad to give his arguments on the issuance of red warrant in the next hearing of the court. The Additional Judge adjourned hearing of the case till January 30, 2017.
