Rangers to be deployed for NA-120 by-polls


A notification has been issued to deploy four companies of Punjab Rangers during the by-election in NA-120 constituency scheduled to be held on September 17.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the Defence Ministry has accepted the application of appointing Punjab Rangers during the NA-120 by-polls.

CCTV cameras are being installed at the printing press and the polling stations on the request of Pakistan Army. The ECP wrote a letter to Punjab chief secretary asking him to get the CCTV cameras installed at both these venues.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Kulsoom Nawaz, Pakistan People’s Party candidate Faisal Mir and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf candidate Dr Yasmin Rashid are contesting the NA-120 by-election. A close contest is likely to be happened between these candidates.
