ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) decided to motivate in parliament the issue of mistreatment by the officials of Shiv Sena with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The party aims to move a resolution on this matter in Parliament that it filed on Thursday in the National Assembly Secretariat.
The resolution aims to declare Shiv Sena as an extremist organisation internationally.
The draft reads: The house strongly protests against the recent mistreatment of PCB officials by Shiv Sena in India; vehemently condemns the recent chain of incidents of hostility against Pakistani nationals on diplomatic and cultural fronts; urges the government to summon the Indian High Commissioner immediately to lodge strong protest; and appeals the government to take this issue fervently internationally and declare Shiv Sena an extremist organisation.
It was passed by Ministers of National Assembly, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Imran Zafar Leghari, Shazia Atta Marri, Dr Nafisa Shah and Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani. If the Secretariat raises the resolution on agenda, it will encourage a discussion in before the assembly passes the resolution.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan was to meet president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Shashank Manohar, earlier this week on Monday, but the meeting was delayed after Shiv Sena workers stormed and surrounded the board’s Mumbai office.
“Sena activists crashed through the gates of the office in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium that serves as the headquarters of the BCCI,” according to the report.
The protesters have entered the Manohar’s office and crowded around this desk shouting the slogans against him.
Dhananjay Kulkarni, the Mumbai police Deputy Commissioner told the AFP news that, “Six people are being held in custody and we are registering an offence of rioting,” he added that, “Thirty-five were involved so we are looking to arrest a few more.”
“Shiv Sena has also threatened to stop Pakistan’s Aleem Dar from officiating in the fifth and final ODI between India and South Africa to be played in Mumbai on Sunday”, published on the CricInfo website, said the report.
“Chief Executive of International Cricket Council (ICC) David Richardson has regretted the attack on BCCI office by Shiv Sena extremists,” Radio Pakistan had reported. He said, while addressing the news conference in Dubai that, “the cricket playing nations should promote mutual cooperation.”
India has always been showing its mentality filled with extremism against Pakistan. Now, it is violating all the moral values.
Seeing the silence of world on this issue is quite suspicious. India is openly creating messed up situation with Pakistan even when Pakistan’ former foreign minister, Khurshad Shah visited India for a peaceful event of the inauguration of a book, Shiv Sena’a terrorists attacked the host of that event and threw black paint on him. However, he attended the event and condemned the attack. Indian legendary actor Naseer ud Din Shah also condemned the shameful act.
Couple of days after that, J & K ‘ independent engineer Rashid was also attacked with black ink.
