Muzaffarabad: The spokesperson for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has demanded of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign following Panama leaks scandal on Wednesday.
Abid Hussain Abid the AJK government spokesperson and Information Minister said, “Now the prime minister should resign from his office immediately as he has lost the confidence of the masses and it is moral obligation on him the step down”.
He said that because of the international scandal, prime ministers and leaders of other countries have shown courage and quit their offices.
He also added that as many as 12 key leaders have withdrawn from their posts so far which include the leaders of Iceland, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Spain and Germany asking PM Nawaz to follow suit and quit the office.
The Panama leaks cannot be swept under the carpet and it has adversely affected reputation of the PML-N in AJK. This has triggered grave concern among the people of AJK”. He claimed, “The PML-N will have to suffer crushing defeat in the upcoming elections in AJK due to the Panama leaks issue”.
