“Mickey Arthur used abusive language against me and stopped me from doing training in the National Cricket Academy,” said Akmal. He further said that Arthur used abusive language in front of other senior cricketers and the academy coach who were present there.
This is not the first time Umar Akmal is found involved in any controversy.
In 2014, he was detained at a local police station in Lahore following a quarrel with a traffic warden over breaking a traffic signal. He also came into headlines after a scuffle with security guards deputed at a theatre auditorium in Faisalabad and also for being allegedly detained from an event in Hyderabad.
Akmal was dropped from the Champions Trophy squad in May 2017 after he failed two consecutive fitness tests.
