Islamabad: Syed Khursheed Shah has rejected the government’s decision to set up a judicial commission to probe Panama Papers.
Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly was speaking on the floor National Assembly on Thursday.
Shah said that nobody in Pakistan would accept the judicial commission.
“Imran Khan, Naveed Qamar, Siraj ul Haq or Khawaja Asif did not make the allegations about the offshore holdings of Sharif family. It was leaked by the law firm,” he added.
He said that the government must order audit of the offshore holdings of Sharif family through an international firm.
“No judicial commission can answer the questions being raised by opposition parties about Panama leaks,” he said.
“I don’t know who pushed the PM to hold the address. It was unnecessary and raised more questions,” he said.
Shah said that Hussain Nawaz himself confessed that he set up offshore companies to evade tax.
“Panama leaks have become an international issue. The government should deal with the matter very cautiously,” he added.
The opposition leader further said that judicial commission would not be able to investigate the matter even in three years.
