Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has categorically stated that the world should ‘do more’ now against terrorism. We want respect and dignity from America and not aid.
Addressing the central ceremony to commemorate the Defence Day at General Headquarters on Wednesday, he said that enemies should be aware of the fact that we will protect the motherland till the last drop of our blood.
Darkness and shadows hovering over the country are diminishing. “We are indebted by the blood of martyrs. The nation who forget their martyrs are not forgiven by the history. We salute the martyrs on behalf of the nation and Pakistan armed forces.”
Since 1947, the armed forces of Pakistan have always laid their lives for the country. Armed forces can eliminate the terrorists but extremism can only be defeated with the help of every citizen of Pakistan.
Gen Bajwa said extremists are not jihad instead they are creating conflicts. There is a need of national unity today. In past, Pakistan has given so many sacrifices but now the time of our victory has arrived and the destruction of terrorists has started. This is the war of our survival and we must win it for the survival of our future generations.
“We are proud of the brave people of Balochistan who rejected terrorism. Pakistan-China friendship is the symbol of mutual respect. CPEC will open new avenues of peace and prosperity for the entire region.” When the institutions will be strengthened then Pakistan will be strengthened, he added.
He said we are fencing the 2600 kilometre border of Afghanistan and we will not allow anyone to use our soil against anyone. The United States should acknowledge the sacrifices of our martyrs.
