Nawaz Sharif to prioritize Pakistan’s national interest during his four-day visit in Washington DC

Washington: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was honored the title of Guard of Honour at the Andrews Air Base by the armed forces of the United States during his four day visit to the state of Washington.

Maryam Nawaz, the PM’s daughter and Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of the PM along with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and PM’s special assistant on foreign affairs, Tariq Fatemi. Were received by Peter Selfridge the Assistant Secretary of State and other influential dignitaries.

The Prime Minister has planned to hold friendly discussions with the American President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and various important Cabinet members, regarding various issues of bilateral interest

The meetings will mainly concentrate on talks of mutual interest that will ponder over the current Pakistan-US relations and analyse new areas of relation expansion that can enhance the degree of alliance and patnetship within the two countries.

It was also reported that Nawaz will socialize and coordinate with members of the US Senate and the House of Representative along with senior US Government officials.
The Prime Minister will also attend an event in Washignton DC which is classified as a business one organized by US-Pakistan Business Council. He will also be speaking at the United States Institute of Peace.

The Prime Minister is with full faith that both the countries will help and reach together at a level of mutual understanding. He specifically stated that Pakistan’s national interests will be prioritized.

“We will protect the national interests of Pakistan during my meetings with US leadership,” said the prime minister.
