Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting their third child in January 2018, according to news reports.
The couple has used a surrogate for their third baby because the pregnancy for Kim Kardashian was regarded as too ‘unsafe’ by the doctors. This is because Kim has suffered from a very rare condition known as Placenta Accreta during her previous deliveries. In the condition, the placenta attaches too deeply into the woman’s uterus making it very painful to remove it,
Kim reportedly opened up about her condition during her daughter North’s birth, “This is a high-risk condition that happens when the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall. My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful!!! My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that – it was the most painful experience of my life! They gave me a second epidural but we were racing against time, so I just had to deal with it.”
Kim also shared that many women have died from it in the past – without the relevant medical care at hand. “I’m so thankful that my doctor was able to catch this and address the issue immediately. After all of that, I still had a piece of placenta attached inside of me and I had to have surgery to remove it. Then I had another surgery to remove the scar tissue.”
However, the couple began their search for a surrogate for their third baby in June 2017, despite several offers made by Kim’s sister Kourtney Kardashian and mother Kris Jenner, the couple picked, a mom from San Diego who is in her late 20’s referred by an agency. She is reportedly three months pregnant. The woman has served as a surrogate before and appeared in a promotional video about the process with her own family.
