Indian spinner Amit Mishra to face ‘assault with a kettle’ charges

BENGALURU – INDIA: Police case has been filed against Amit Mishra, Indian spinner on complaint of a Mumbai-based film producer’s complaint.

The right-arm spinner plays for the Indian team in Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty20s.

Mishra has been asked by the Police to appear before them and answer the questions raised by the complainant.

“An FIR has been filed against Mishra on Vandana’s complaint on September 27.  A notice was issued to him to appear before the police within a week of the notice receipt”, Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said.

The complainant Vendana is of the view that Mishra had abused her and assaulted her with a kettle at a five star restaurant where she went to meet him.

Vendana and Mishra has almost three years long friendship and she went to the hotel to meet him where he was staying.

The police said that they have also sent a copy of report to the BCCI in Mumbai as Mishra was staying in the hotel where he assaulted Vendana, during a preparation camp of cricket.
