IG Sindh, A D Khawaja, failed to arrest the absconding cop, Rao Anwar, within the three-day deadline. During the court hearing today, Khawaja was shown disappointment by the Supreme Court in his performance. Upon his offer to tender the resignation, he was asked to perform up to the merit and deliver as soon as possible.
Initial deadline of three-days couldn’t be met by the Sindh police. Deadline has been extended for another ten days.
ISI, MI, and IB are directed to cooperate with IG Sindh in arresting the fugitive cop.
IGP Sindh was told that despite so many untoward points, he was reinstated but still failed to deliver. According to SC, “alleged cop used airline to travel and not any sugarcane truck to move around. He just can’t vanish in the air.”
Worth-mentioning here that Anwar had already confessed his role in the extra-judicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud.
While talking to the media, outside the court, Sindh IGP, AD Khawaja, mentioned that Police was not equipped to trace the WhatsApp call. According to Khawaja, “Anwar is usually “online” on WhatsApp status”.
