The world renowned Pakistan’s nuclear physicist, metallurgic engineer and the founder of the Uranium enrichment program for Pakistan’s atomic bomb project was born on April 1st in year 1936.
He also established the Kahuta Research Laboratories (KRL) in 1976 and served as its senior scientist as well as Director-General until he got retired in 2001. Dr A. Q. Khan always remained very significant figure in Pakistani national science projects.
He made major contributions in:
- Research on molecular morphology
- The physics of marten site alloys
- Condensed matter physics
- Materials physics
